Job Title: Foam Pad Engineer

Summary of Position:

As a Foam Pad Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in managing foam-related issues to support efficient operations and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively as a liaison between management, employees, and customers. Your primary objective will be to ensure the effective functioning of our business processes while prioritizing customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to HTGSS policies, procedures, and core values
• Comply with HTGSS Certification standards: IATF16949, ISO 14001-2015, and ISO 45001-2018
• Foster a positive work environment
• Manage department budget efficiently as per approved annual budget
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment following the 5S philosophy
• Meet company safety goals
• Assist management and foam team in planning and implementing strategies
• Coordinate technical projects and improvements
• Investigate technical issues related to foam
• Generate reports, analyze data, and interpret findings
• Drive continuous improvement processes with materials and machines
• Develop technical abilities of foam process engineers
• Conduct robot programming for optimizing pour patterns
• Validate and improve lab results related to static load, hardness, density, and dimension
• Ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines

Physical Demands:

• Talk and hear regularly
• Sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
• Use hands for typing, handling objects, and paperwork
• Reach and hold items at various levels
• Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Utilize close vision and maintain focus
• Work extended hours as required
• Travel domestically and internationally if necessary

Position Requirements

• Experience in Automotive manufacturing process experience, including controlling inputs and outputs.
• Experience working with robot programming; Fanuc preferred.
• Hands-on industrial maintenance experience required, including high-pressure mix heads, poly pumps, and flow meters.
• Demonstrated experience with root cause investigative processes, either by serving as a team member, or as a facilitator
• Demonstrated competencies in the areas of leadership, initiative, teamwork, and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Demonstrated understanding of a leader's role in ensuring a safe work environment and a history of working safely and, complying with environmental, health, and safety standards
• Familiarity with TS 16949 or ISO/QS 9000 standards is preferred.
• Must have proven critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Must have Organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and a keen sense of urgency.
• Must be proficient in MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Must have strong leadership, initiative, teamwork, and interpersonal effectiveness.
• Must have excellent communication skills communicating with employees and management.

• Associate degree or higher in Applied Science or equivalent work experience
• Automotive foam pad seating experience (preferred)
