Position Overview:

In the Automotive Service Technician role, you will play a crucial role in terms of the customer experience in conducting diagnostic procedures to determine vehicle maintenance requirements and providing accurate repair recommendations to our customers. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Performing vehicle repairs and/or maintenance work as outlined on RO with efficiency and accuracy, performing all duties in accordance with dealership and OEM standards
• Communicating with Parts and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production/repairs, cycle times and customer communication 
• Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations for repairs while ensuring the safety and reliability of any vehicle that has been repaired prior to them being returned to the customer 
• Document all work performed on the vehicle RO by creating a story in the on the associated repair order, in a manner consistent with OEM standards, ensuring payment of warranty work is provided by the manufacturer 
• Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as a “store-provided” piece of equipment 
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as required 
• Keep work area and bay free of debris and tidy to ensure a safe, compliant work environment
• Providing an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue
• Provide feedback on communication and flow of work to Service Manager when issues arise
• Mentor junior technicians when needed to provide support to the team as a whole

Requirements: 

• Must be 18 years of age or older to met requirements to work in the Service Center
• Must posses a valid US-issued Driver’s License
• Must demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background check and MVR
• ASE or OEM Certification would be considered an asset, but is not required
• Ability to safely drive automatic and manual transmission vehicles for test drives
• Tool inventory to perform the jobs typically assigned to Master or Diagnostic Line Technicians
• Capable of operating shop equipment (lifts, racks, etc), diagnostic, and hand tools to complete repairs
• Completion of a related post-secondary program, training courses or equivalent work experience 
• Professional demeanor and strong work ethic, which includes a high level of integrity and strong moral compass
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as creating stories for repairs is a required part of the position
• Attention to detail in all aspects of work, with the ability to work as a team or individually
