Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising, evaluating, training, and coaching production Team Members, as well as continuous improvements in the areas of safety, quality, and productivity.

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

• Record and maintain documents of employee records including attendance, labor hours, training, and performance evaluations.
• Determine work procedures, proper manning, and needed overtime to assign duties and tasks to production associates for maximized productivity
• Provide guidance and (OJT) on-the-job-training to production Team Members
• Control and maintain labor costs and provide necessary training for production Team Members
• Manage tools, quality of assembled parts, and finished product within the assembly areas
• Lead problem solving teams to identify, brainstorm, recommend and implement corrective actions to improve plant productivity and efficiency
• Communicate with team members on expectations, performance, and process changes
• Seek (OFI) opportunity-for-improvement in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery
• Monitor and inspect on a regular basis the quality of product, repairs, quality of workmanship, proper labeling, allocation, and staging of parts and product
• Apply a sense of urgency to addressing and resolving production matters in a timely manner
• Maintain housekeeping to company standards
• Verify at the beginning of each shift (daily) that the previous shift’s sequence numbers have all been accounted for and that no sequences have been omitted or removed from the line
• Conduct or participate in team and safety meetings and promote safety within the workplace
• Ensure that all safety rules and regulations including company policies and procedures are followed and administer counseling or disciplinary action as required
• All other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent, plus four (4) years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
• Knowledge of the assembly line processes and the ability to train Team Members
• Ability to work independently
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree in business or a related field plus 3 years of relevant experience
• Four (4) years of automotive experience
