Full Time Cook / Kitchen Assistant needed to perform all duties related to the preparation of meal service items according to standard operating procedures for quality assurance. Prepare and cook food while following appropriate sanitation measures. Present food while providing excellent customer service.

Essential Job Functions
• Prepares, cooks and serves food in accordance with established policies and procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with serving meals
• Assist in serving clients by following USDA guidelines and ensuring that their needs are recognized and acknowledged
• Maintains an organized, clean and safe environment in the kitchen at all times.
• Complies with food safety standards and guidelines during all phases of food handling.
• Completes all required documentation including but not limited to food and equipment temperature logs.
• Washes and sanitizes dishes, utensils and equipment, and returns to proper storage areas as requested.
• Assists in assuring the proper receiving, rotating and storage of food and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Serve Safe Certificate preferred.
• Minimum of two years experience in food production required.
• Experience in preparing and serving food in an institutional setting preferred.
