Pay Range: $130,000 - $155,000

Job Summary: Hydro has identified Recycling as one of its strategic growth areas and this includes increasing the use of purchased scrap, specifically post-consumer scrap, in our production. Extrusion North America operates 9 recycling plants, 8 in the US and 1 in Canada. To deliver on this growth strategy we are looking to strengthen our team with a Scrap Buyer in North America.

Required Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal & communication skills
• Ability to negotiate frequent commercial agreements
• Strong commercial mindset
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Preferably some experience in a commercial buying/selling position
• Associates degree or equivalent experience in metals industry preferred

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and further develop the existing supplier portfolio
• Visit supplier sites seeking out new scrap streams
• Support supplier development including areas of quality, CSR and compliance
• Manage supplier non-conformance issues and related quality claims
• Approximately 5-10 days of travel per month to supplier sites
