POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, organizes, and monitors the receiving, storage, and distribution of items received either from customers or suppliers ensuring a safe, smooth and consistent operation in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy management and customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate inventory placement, setup drawings
- Schedule work-shifts, meetings, etc. as needed
- Storage management (storing compactly and safely) and regulate storage space according to customer and management requirements.
- Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the daily activities in a safe, effective and efficient manner.
- Interview and recommend applicants for hire.
- Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance.
- Ensures employees' ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move products.
- Counsels, records, recommends and administers disciplines as necessary.
- Maintains equipment and structure level to accomplish the department mission in a safe, effective manner.
- Ensures accuracy of receiving and shipping reports documents.
- Resolves discrepancies with Accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver and shipping reports.
- Monitors the flow of paperwork from shipping and receiving or timely data entry.
- Oversees the movement of product from receiving to the storage area/warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
- Ensures products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
- Oversees the FIFO rotation of inventories.
- Ensures the security and monitoring of the facility, equipment and products.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Maintains thankful, respectful, polite, and courteous attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED (required).
- 2-4 year college degree/certification preferred.
- 5 years of related experience working in similar industry. Additional education may be substituted for years of work experience.
- 5 years of supervision experience of minimal 5 associates.
- Equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications and internet (email).
- Comfort using heavy forklift machinery and office machinery
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of shipping regulations.
- Leadership and team building skills with the ability to foster a collaborative and cooperative environment.
- Displays maturity and assertiveness
- Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
