POSITION PURPOSE: To pay very close attention to the features of each event with a keen eye for detail. When preparing a celebration or gathering for our guests, it is important that we take their plans and bring them to life by transforming the event rooms exactly into what they imagined. Assist and supervise the set-up, while following Hyatt Regency Coralville’s high standards of quality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Develop and implement on-going training and development plans, which distinguish our staff as competent and professional with in the industry.
• Assist and supervise banquet set-up staff and ensure all tasks are completed.
• Inspect storage facilities.
• Train new associates.
• Develop working relationships with vendors and suppliers who provide services to groups and associations.
• Coordinate the visual inspection and maintenance of public function space and equipment condition to ensure Hyatt Regency Coralville’s high standards are met.
• Install phone lines in guest rooms and meeting rooms.
• Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to read English to effectively analyze client, in-house, and third party correspondence.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience preferred.
