The Hyatt Place Knoxville-Downtown is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our team! Maintenance Technicians at our historic, yet eclectic, hotel located in the heart of Downtown Knoxville are responsible for both preventative and corrective maintenance.

Your Responsibilities

• Preventative maintenance: Maintain equipment, fixtures, and building according to the preventative maintenance schedules and keep accurate records of preventative maintenance activities as required by management and ownership standards.
• Painting, patching, touch-ups of public spaces and guestrooms.
• Assisting with sweeping, moping, and removing garbage from building when assigned.
• Other tasks as assigned

What You Need

• OPEN AVAILABILITY - WEEKENDS, EVENINGS, HOLIDAYS REQUIRED
• Must be coachable and a good communicator
• Team player: Treat fellow associates, managers, and guests with genuine care. Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest service requests and to communicate changes in room status to the front desk.
• Problem Solver: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner and develop alternative solutions when necessary.
• Responsive: Report problems to management and other teams efficiently and effectively to include appropriate people in decision-making process.
• Adaptable- Frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events are normal in hospitality and applicants should be able to adapt appropriately.
• Dependable: Consistently at work and on time. Attend scheduled meetings and appointments on time. Potential candidates must meet the demands of the hospitality industry, including working weekends and some holidays.

The Hyatt Place Knoxville/Downtown is located in a century old building that was continually the Farragut Hotel until the 1970s. 530 S Gay Street holds a rich history, being the birthplace of the SEC and former home of James Brown's radio station in the 60s. This eclectic building holds a curated collection of local arts and crafts that emphasize the charm of the hotel, while also supporting the community. With any 100 year old building comes its quirks. Our Engineering Team plays a vital role in preserving and maintaining the overall integrity of our historic building.
