Summary: The Bartender/Server is responsible for servicing restaurant guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems; providing the highest quality service to guests and team members, maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hours of operation while also maintaining control over food and beverage inventories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned by a supervisor as needed.

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition to effectively communicate with guests, team members and community.
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Legacy Ventures Service standards as outlined in the Blueprint, brand standards and other policies / rules of conduct, to include personal appearance / grooming, proper uniform (including name tag), attendance as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel, and safe / efficient operations.
  • Comply with certification requirements as applicable to position to include Alcohol Awareness, Food Handlers, Safety, etc.
  • Understand and follow brand and other standard steps of service and other guidelines to ensure customers are attended to properly and all food and beverage items comply with quality and presentation guidelines.
  • Perform opening and closing side work according to standards to ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently.
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the companys mixing, portion control and presentation standards.
  • Promptly serve guests with all food and beverage requirements in a warm, friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Ensure that the work area and front of house areas are kept clean and tidy.
  • Follow check ringing procedures precisely.
  • Be familiar with the operation of the P.O.S. system.
  • Carry out cashiering functions in closing checks and servicing the guest. Follow established cash handling procedures.
  • Assist with maintaining beverage cost.
  • Follow state liquor laws and prescribed procedures in serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests.
  • Attend meetings as required by management.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.

  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.


Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
