Job Overview

The Assistant Administrator supports the administrative function of facility operations, reports to the facility Administrator and functions as the Administrators designee in his/her absence. The Assistant Administrator holds the second highest level position in the facility and assists department managers in the development and implementation of successful programs ensuring compliance with company policy, state and federal regulations. The assistant administrator is responsible for ensuring that the highest level of customer service and quality of care is delivered to patients and their families, creating and promoting an environment that reflects the core values and guiding principles of Hyatt Family Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Administrator to define areas of interest and opportunities for professional development.
  • Lead relevant committee meetings and departments. Carry out tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Assist assigned Department Managers and the Administrator in the development of new and innovative programs.
  • Lead relevant quality improvement efforts, by actively participating in and contributing to monthly QAPI meetings, creating and executing on one or more facility performance improvement plans.
  • Conduct routine audits and quality rounds to assure that the highest degree of quality of care is consistently provided to the residents. Report findings to the Administrator and work with department managers to eliminate or correct problem areas and improve services.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, model core values and guiding principles.
  • Foster a culture that aligns with the core values and guiding principles of Hyatt Family Facilities amongst peers, staff, volunteers and vendors. Create an environment that recognizes and celebrates diversity.
  • Assure that proper procedures are employed when department managers hire, counsel, discipline and terminate employees.
  • Assist with annual performance evaluations, orientation and onboarding of new employees.
  • Apply corrective discipline and/or coaching when needed to mitigate workforce performance and behavior issues.
  • Collaborate with the Administrator to develop and adhere to annual budget. Actively participate in the budgeting process e.g. review prior year performance, define market niche and affiliated programs, conduct a market analysis, evaluate and define necessary labor, ancillary and capitol expenses, plan revenue.
  • Oversees the implementation and evaluation of the staffing model to assure high quality, cost- effective care.
  • Collaborate with Administrator and relevant parties to define and carry out a marketing and business development plan. Develop relationships and strategies for collaboration with hospitals, health systems, home health, hospice and other community providers to promote value-based care delivery.
  • Assist the Administrator in auditing and updating key compliance documents including but not limited to survey binder, Emergency Operations Plan, Safety Data Sheets, Facility Assessment and Safety Committee
  • Monitor and report on labor daily, complete additional tasks as assigned. May supervise, direct or coordinate functions of one or more departments.
  • Act as the Administrators designee in the event of his or her absence.

Job Requirements:

  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively on an interdisciplinary team in care settings with residents, families, staff members, representatives of the community and government agencies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and follow through. Must be able to effectively support management level staff in identifying, prioritizing and executing improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to use data to analyze a challenge, generate and measure efficacy of solutions.
  • Prior experience working in a LTC-PAC facility preferred.
  • Licensed or able to be licensed according to state regulations, must attend continuing education as required.
