Department: Nursing Administration
Work Hours: (10 hours per week) 20 hours per pay, requires the selected candidate to be available to work 10 hour shifts, between the hours of 1:30pm to 11:30pm, every other weekend, and holidays as required, as well as relief coverage, including 4am-2pm shifts, for vacations and requests.

Must be able to perform intermediate to advanced secretarial functions. With supervision provides staffing activities for all patient care areas that report to nursing administration.

This position will receive requests for staffing from the patient care units, place calls to employees homes or agencies and otherwise facilitate the provision of adequate staffing levels for both bargaining unit and non-bargaining unit employees. Will maintain an accurate record of calls made and other staffing arrangements consistent with the collective bargaining agreement for nurses. Must be able to set priorities and make collaborative decisions regarding staffing that are consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.

Provides confidential secretarial support to the Nurse Managers. Facilitates, coordinates and organizes secretarial and general office work. Completes multiple tasks. Supports the HVHS imperatives.

Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent.

Proficient at software applications, standard office equipment such as fax, copier, and multi-line telephone system.

Have two years secretarial experience.

Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred
Business school completion or associates degree in secretarial, business or computer systems.
