Job Description
- Create, update, and manage the Company’s supply chain strategy.
- Purchase all raw materials
- Negotiate and set up new vendors and purchasing contracts
- Complete quotes and find sources for improved products, lowering cost and faster delivery
- Analyze data from shipping and delivering processes to find bottlenecks and other issues
- Evaluate and report on KPIs
- Monitor logistics to make sure they run smoothly
- Maintain supply chain inventory and records
- Train and guide employees
- Find cost effective solutions for supply chain processes
- Resolve issues that come up (e.g. delays in delivery, accidents)
- Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
- Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain (e.g. use of trucks, forklifts, etc.)
- Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards
- Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals
- Manage the warehouse function including receiving of raw materials, shipping of finished goods, and organizing of both in the warehouse area
- Communicate with customers on complaints and concerns, refer to customers’ complaints relating to quality or production to appropriate management
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers and customers.
- Previous experience as supply chain manager or in a similar field
- Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
- Working experience of relevant software (e.g. SAP, MM)
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Three ( ) years’ experience as a supervisor, manager or similar relevant position required.
- Experience with Automotive Exterior Lighting a plus.
