J & J Staffing Resources is Hiring a Logistic coordinator Near Trenton, NJ
Our client, located in Trenton, New Jersey, is seeking an International Logistics Coordinator . The International Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing the movement of goods across the globe, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery while maintaining compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements.
This is a fast paced, continually changing environment, which requires agility and quick thinking. With products coming from various countries and the need to constantly optimize costs, it is a high-stakes game of logistics.
Air transport is the primary mode, but ocean and ground are strong secondary's.
This is a full-time, onsite, direct hire position.
Salary : $75,000 / year
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate and manage international shipments via air, sea, and land routes.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, carriers, custom brokers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and freight forwarders to optimize transportation costs.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation requirements of origin and destination countries.
- Prepare and manage shipping documents including invoices, bills of lading, and export and import documentation.
- Track and monitor the progress of shipments; provide updates to relevant stakeholders and address any delays or issues as they arise.
- Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains with the logistics operation.
Skills and Qualifications :
- 3 years international logistics coordination experience required
- Experience with air, ocean, and ground transportation required.
- Degree in supply chain management, logistics, chain management, or a related field a plus
- Proficiency in logistics software and systems for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
- Able to work independently most of the time, yet also capable of collaborating when needed.
- Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders across different regions and cultures.
