SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Scheduler provides maintenance inventory control and parts ordering; schedules and coordinates preventive and predictive maintenance activities; and manages the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
The employee must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with maintenance staff, outside contractors, vendors, suppliers, and personnel from other company departments. Attention to detail and accuracy. Employee must understand the role and function of the maintenance organization in a manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years experience working as a scheduler or coordinator for a maintenance, service, or technical organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math and problem solving skills required for measurement, inventory tracking, and calendar scheduling.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of email, MS Excel, MS Word, eReq, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
REASONING ABILITY:
The employee must have the ability to define problems, draw valid conclusions, and determine a proper course of action. The employee must be able to implement necessary solutions under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or designee.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Hilo (fork truck) operator’s license. First Responder and blood born pathogen certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; walk; bend; use hands to grasp, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; work with a computer; and regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, to climb, and to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee will work regularly between an office, a maintenance shop, and a manufacturing environment where the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) will be required including: safety glasses, steel toed shoes, and hearing protection. The employee will spend time each day working at a computer workstation. The employee will perform inventory, stock replenishment and bin counting activities in the maintenance stock room. This work may require the use of a ladder and/or stepstool.
