Associate Tax Accountant
A small accounting firm with locations in Scappoose, St. Helens, and Tillamook,
Oregon is seeking an Associate Tax Accountant to join our growing practice. The
Associate Tax Accountant will prepare mostly individual and business tax returns, may be involved in payroll review/reporting, and provide Quickbooks Assistance/Consulting for our clients. Basic office duties and client interviews/onboarding will be expected as well. A successful candidate will possess experience (2 years) or a degree in accounting/tax. Familiarity and use of Quickbooks and Lacerte tax software are preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will be organized, service oriented, professional, and friendly. The ability to manage priorities, be self-motivated, maintain a positive attitude, and have attention to detail are all desired qualities. This is a drug- free workplace.
Responsibilities include:
● Communication with owners, clients, and other team members.
● Interview/Onboarding of clients
● Preparation of individual and business client tax returns in Lacerte (tax software).
● Assist with Quickbooks/Quickbooks Online for various clients.
● Assist with payroll reporting and review
● Tracking of time worked on all projects.
● Research on various accounting/tax/business issues.
● Other office duties and projects as needed.
● Longer working hours expected at certain times of the year.
Qualifications:
2-3 Years Tax Experience, 5 Year Accounting Bachelors (CPA Eligible), or
Associates Accounting Degree (recent graduates included)
● Understanding of Lacerte tax software and tax code
● Comfortable using Quickbooks and Quickbooks Online
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
● Basic knowledge of other online tools (Google Docs, Dropbox, Slack, etc.)
● Solid understanding of accounting principles
● Maintaining and understanding the importance of client and practice confidentiality
Compensation: Depends on experience/degree

Salary: Starting at $43,000 salary per year
