Overview

Job Summary: Provide instruction and supervision of exercise programs for Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab patients, orient/evaluate/develop appropriate Plans of Care, monitor utilizing the ScottCare Telemetry System, and provide support to the Cardiac Rehab Coordinator as needed.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Work closely with the Cardiac Rehab Coordinator and other staff to create exercise programs for patients admitted to the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab programs.
  • Provide instruction to patients and staff in the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab programs in proper exercise techniques and use of equipment.
  • Learn and utilize the ScottCare Telemetry System to properly and appropriately monitor patients admitted to the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab programs, and appropriately document treatment sessions and patient progress. Develop accurate skills in recognizing cardiac rhythms that are both normal and abnormal, and oxygen requirements that are normal and abnormal.
  • Provide orientation/evaluation services to patients as appropriate and develop plans of care to meet patient, program and physician goals.
  • Follow guidelines of the programs and AACVPR.
  • Other duties as directed.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: Those obtained through the completing of the appropriate degree.

    Education: Bachelor Degree in Exercise Physiology or like field. BLS and ACLS certification.

    Experience: That obtained through the attaining of the above degree. Prefer experience with Cardiac and/or Pulmonary Rehab programs.
