Job Summary
Manages the Laboratory Information System including development, maintenance, design, and documentation of software and hardware applications. Serves as a liaison between the laboratory staff and information services. Works under the direction of the Director of the Laboratory.

Education
Certification as a Medical Technologist from a nationally recognized credentialing agency, i.e., ASCP, HEW, or AMT.
Experience
Minimum of 4 years experience in a clinical laboratory and experience as a clinical systems analyst with demonstrated competencies in the following LIS/HIS systems training strongly preferred:
· Systems fundamentals
· Tables and files
· Internet or advanced language coding in field of expertise
· Project management and leadership
· Visual C , Visual Basic, Java (beginning knowledge of at least one equivalent language) or equivalent advanced language coding in field of expertise.
· Mentoring
· System development competency and responsibilities
· Research on systems applications and interfacing
· Fiscal responsibility
· Professional affiliation/leader/certification
· Customer service leadership
· LIS Analyst or Administrator
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have knowledge of current standards, legislation, practices, delivery systems, documentation methods and trends in medicine.
