*** PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF ALHAMBRA/ SOUTH PASADENA - CLASSES ARE BEING TAUGHT IN-PERSON AT OUR CENTER

* Schedule during the spring semester (1/8 - 5/31): 5th English Tues & Thur 4:45 - 6:45pm (must be able to teach this class), PSAT Wed 5:45 - 7:45pm (if your schedule allows, you may teach this class as well)

* During the summer (June - July) schedule will change. Possible times: Mon - Fri 1:30 - 3:30pm, 4:00 - 6:00pm, 6:30 - 8:30pm

*** THIS IS A PERMANENT YEAR-ROUND POSITION (Schedules can change each semester)

Company Info:

Our education center has been helping students excel for over 30 years. We offer after-school enrichment classes for bright and motivated students in 2nd - 12th grades. Courses include math, English, science, and SAT preparation. We're looking for talented and enthusiastic teachers to join a team that genuinely cares about the learning and development of its students.

English/Writing Instructor for native speakers of English:

* We are seeking an English instructor capable of teaching elementary through high school level classes.

* We take pride in the quality of our classes, and we train and support our teachers extensively.

* We will provide the curriculum and weekly assignments covering: essay writing, reading comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary. You may need to revise and develop additional curriculum.

* Students are grouped by grade level, and each level meets twice a week. You will be teaching in a small class setting of 5-20 students.

English Teacher Requirements:

* BA/BS (prefer English degree) and at least 1 year of classroom experience teaching English

* Prefer someone with experience teaching SAT Critical Reading and Writing

* MUST commit to teach one year from start date.

Hours/Pay:

* $30 - $35/hour for teaching (4 hrs/wk), $16/hr for grading and curriculum development (2 hrs /wk)

* Schedule during the spring semester (1/8 - 5/31):

5th English Tues & Thur 4:45 - 6:45pm (must be able to teach this class)

PSAT (9th, 10th grade) Wed 5:45 - 7:45pm (if your schedule allows, you may teach this class as well)

* During the summer (June-July), you could have 2 - 6 two-hr classes depending on your availability. Classes could range from elementary school to high school including PSAT and SAT test preparation. Possible times for the classes are Mon-Fri 1:30-3:30, 4:00-6:00, or 6:30-8:30

* No work to take home! Teach 1-2 classes/day (2 hrs each). You may come before class or stay after class to grade and prepare homework.

* No weekends required
