Hunting Group is Hiring a Quality Assurance Inspector Near Fryeburg, ME

Hunting's Dearborn Division is seeking self-motivated, detailed oriented Quality Assurance Inspectors to join our team in Fryeburg, ME. This dynamic team-oriented role will work closely with their team as well as clients they are serving. Effective verbal and written communication are essential as well as being able to efficiently problem solve and produce timely results.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution.
  • Read, understand, and follow quality policy and procedures. Thoroughly review details before starting a job, review deviations reports and apply quality standards to make required corrections.
  • Use inspection planning tools and perform a product audit; determine sample size for lots; pull random samples.
  • Identify and report non-conforming material.
  • Plot data and recognize out of control conditions and initiate appropriate resolutions.
  • Perform measurement conversions; ability to solve for x; add and subtract degrees, minutes, and seconds.
  • Conduct daily workstation surveillance.
  • Measure using surface plate layouts.
  • Conduct random key characteristic (KC) inspection.
  • Provide Proficiency and accuracy of quality plans.
  • Produce parts in a timely manner and strive to reduce cycle times without compromising quality goals.
  • Complete Final product acceptance.
  • Complete non-conforming part review.
  • Assemble and deliver measuring equipment.
  • Brief Quality Inspection Lead on all quality issues.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma.
  • ASQ certification desired (CQT, CQI).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic calibration knowledge.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and understand definitions of critical, major and minor characteristics.
  • General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of GD&T, and understand the Cartesian coordinate system.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematical operations and measurement conversions.
  • Understand traceability (product, material, and calibration).
  • Proficiency & accuracy of quality plans.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical terms and techniques.
  • Knowledge of measurement terminology and ability to identify various types of measurement scales.
  • Understand the difference between accuracy and precision and be able to select the appropriate measuring tools and techniques.

The employee is required to occasionally use hands to handle tools and inspect parts and equipment. Employees must be able to lift up to 50lbs and push material carts as needed.

  • Monday to Friday Day Shift schedule, 8 or more hours shifts.
