The position provides direct support to the Supply Chain Manager and acts as a primary point of contact between suppliers and the business. Other duties include monitoring supplier performance and supporting logistics functions. Responsibilities:

• Primary coordinator for strategic sourcing of raw materials, subcontract labor, as well as commercial items used for production. It will also assist in production and project planning as needed
• Initiate RFQ's to suppliers based on project requirements for raw materials as well as subcontract labor.
• Negotiating and procurement of raw materials and equipment.
• Create purchase orders based on competitive supplier bidding, and project schedule.
• Create conversion orders (subcontract labor) through in-house production orders based on shop capabilities, and shop capacity to ensure on time project delivery.
• Communicate product delivery and availability constraints.
• Interact with production planning, project management, and manufacturing to ensure project requirements for schedule and quality are met.
• Develop vendor relationships in effort to identify cost saving opportunities through processes such as vendor based inventory.
• Assist in identifying potential new supplier candidates in support of in-house production.
• Lead the management approved vendor list including analysis of cost, quality and on time delivery.
• Participate in physical inventory and cycle counts including conducting counts, count audits and review of variances.
• Accurately track and report key functional metrics.
• Comply with and promote safety in the workplace, to include attendance at safety meetings as well as conduct safety meeting when necessary

Required Skills and Experience:

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering or other related field
• Must have excellent organizational skills;
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in procurement, subcontract labor sourcing as well as production planning and shipping
• Strong background in procurement of raw material such as forging, tubing, and pipe needed.
• Must possess ability to interpret machine and weld drawings as well as material specifications and bills of material.
• Familiarity of machine shop, and fabrication shop environment.
• Familiar with Lean Manufacturing and 5-S
• Familiar with ISO, API, and ASTM certification and process.
• Mechanical aptitude with good organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office products and ERP systems
• Ability to speaking Spanish and English a plus
• Familiar with contracts, blueprints/engineering drawings

• This position will require working 20% outdoors and 80% indoors in a smoke-free office and manufacturing facility.
• Limited travel will be required to support offsite personnel and business projects.
• Occasional assignments may include evening or weekend schedules.
• The noise level is usually moderate.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in the office performing work on a computer. Employee will be required to walk and be on the manufacturing floor.
