Hunter Contracting is Hiring a Staffing Specialist - Phoenix Metro Heavy Civil Construction Near Gilbert, AZ

Job Purpose: To manage the full cycle recruiting/hiring process. Partnering with hiring managers to fulfill workforce needs and build relationships and a diverse pipeline of potential candidates for exempt and non-exempt positions.

Roles, Duties, & Responsibilities:

  • Work with hiring managers to understand the skill sets requested and fulfill workforce needs (which may include visiting jobsites).
  • Maintain a high level of communication with hiring managers and providing guidance relating to recruiting process.
  • Source qualified candidates through a wide variety of channels including advertisements, job events, networking through social media, involvement in organizations, referrals from current or former employees and understanding the competition.
  • Directs and conducts new hire process to include interviewing and qualifying candidates, present qualified candidates to hiring managers, making job offers and coordinating with HR Assistant for onboarding.
  • Solicit feedback to refine the recruiting strategy and output of the organization.
  • Utilizing the complete functionality of the applicant tracking system managing the progress of open positions and maintaining data integrity.
  • Maintain relationships, through continual contact with desirable, highly skilled candidates and past employees.
  • Negotiate contracts with temporary agencies and coordinate temporary labor as requested.
  • Coordinate career fairs, job events, and open houses to build our brand and relationships in the industry.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions.
  • Interact and communicate with various levels of internal and external customers/partners.
  • Responsible for compliance with state and federal recruiting requirements (i.e., affirmative action program)

Work Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to employment law and practices.
  • Advanced computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrates attentive and active listening skills.
  • Strong administrative background with good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Can be trusted to maintain confidentiality and adhere to company values.
  • Approaches work in a meticulous, thorough, and detailed manner.
  • Is open to change and can adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Presents a positive image that reflects well on the organization.
  • Learns quickly on the job.
  • Prioritizes work to meet goals or deadlines.
  • Possesses a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field; AND,
  • Minimum of four (4) years full cycle recruiting for Heavy Civil Construction,
  • Specialized training in employment law, compensation, employee relations, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
