The Construction/Safety Manager (Night Shift) is a 2-week contract position supporting a capital construction project at a chemical plant located near the Ville Platte, LA. area.This role will be needed in July of 2024, and will support a roof replacement project. The Night Shift CM will serve in an Owner's Rep. capacity supervising a specialty contracts conducting the construction work. The roof covers a tank that is over 60' tall, so the NACE Coating Inspector will be expected to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding. This role will work 12 hour days, 6 days/week.
Construction Management/Supervision Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and support all construction projects.
• Develop and maintain project budgets and schedules.
• Compile and submit project reports to management.
• Interact with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals.
• Recruit, select, and supervise construction crews.
• Ensure that all construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Comply with all applicable safety regulations.

Safety Management/Supervision Responsibilities:

• Emphasis on safety culture
• Audit Safe work permit, JSA, Rescue plan, critical lift plan, lock out
• Be familiar with the Safety Execution Plan
• Provide field safety supervision
• Expect a small amount of construction supervision
• Be the project point of contact for shift foreman and security
• Possibly witnessing a few quality points like bolt torque or taking a picture of a weld if it will be covered before day shift returns.

Requirements:

• Willingness to work night-shift for a 2-week contract period.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in construction management in the heavy industrial industry.
• Proven experience managing construction projects during outages or shutdowns.
• Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must be willing to commute to or relocate to the Ville Platte, LA. area for the term of the contract. Per diem can be provided for eligible candidates.
