Description The Communications & Marketing Director oversees all of Humanim's communications systems, and is responsible for leading the development, execution, and management of the organization's strategic communication initiatives, and advancing Humanim's mission, vision, and values to both internal and external audiences. Working closely with employees, key stakeholders, and leadership, the Communications & Marketing Director enacts data-driven strategies and systems that effectively communicate and engage a wide range of audiences, support the organization's strategic goals, and drive organizational growth. They are responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for both internal and external communications, including messaging, media relations, brand management, and creative direction for all marketing assets. The Communications & Marketing Director oversees the Communications team, including the Marketing Manager, Communications Specialist and Graphic Designer, as well as external contractors. Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing/communications/public relations from a four-year college or university (or equivalent training and experience);
5 years of experience leading organization-wide communications, both internal and external, and developing, executing, and managing strategic marketing/communication initiatives that advance organizational goals and mission;
demonstrated talent and experience in brand management, development, messaging, and creative/art direction;
outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills with exceptionally high standards for quality control;
a data-driven mindset with high proficiency in the analysis and application of marketing analytics to optimize initiatives and deliver results;
demonstrated experience in effectively managing both teams and projects to meet deliverables;
ability to balance detail-oriented thinking with big picture vision;
ability to work effectively as both a manager and team member, with a high-level of organization and self-direction;
ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and meet short- and long-term deadlines;
ability to build and maintain relationships with senior leadership, external partners and stakeholders, and people with diverse backgrounds and abilities;
professional integrity and a commitment to Humanim's mission and equity initiatives;
high proficiency in all forms of media and communication technologies/platforms, both print and digital, as well as fluency with various computer programs and software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams), Google Analytics, Dropbox, and Email/Social Media Marketing software (e.g. Mailchimp, SproutSocial).
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and WordPress is a plus.
