About us

Humane Society of Wickenburg is a nonprofit organizaiton located in Wickenburg, Arizona who operates a no-kill animal shelter that temporarily houses dogs and cats and provides community services and support. Our mission is to enrich the lives of animals and enhance the lives of people by joining them in loving relationships and to promote responsible pet ownership through public awareness and humane education.

Our work environment includes:

  • Modern office setting

Duties:

- Perform comprehensive medical examinations on a variety of animals, including dogs, cats
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries in animals
- Administer vaccinations and prescribe medications as necessary
- Perform surgical procedures, including spaying and neutering
- Provide dental care, including cleanings and extractions
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive measures
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to provide quality care for animals
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients

Qualifications:

- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state veterinary license to practice medicine
- Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Effective communication skills to interact with pet owners and staff members

Please note that experience in practice start-up and management is not required but may be considered a plus.

Pay: $140,000.00 per year
