Cooperative for Human Services Inc. is a multi-service organization that provides residential services, independent living supports, and guardianship services for adults with intellectual, developmental and other related disabilities. We are looking for a compassionate and patient Student Intern to join our team! 

Schedule: Full-time and part-time opportunities available. Weekends and weekdays. Typical shifts are 11am-5pm, but we can be flexible

This position involves working directly with adults with disabilities who live in residential locations. We are looking for an energetic person to take our individuals out into the community for activities. You will be taking a small group of our individuals out to do various activities such as; art classes, movies, playing soccer, hiking, car shows, local sporting events etc. Experience in the field is not required - if you are caring and compassionate with a desire to help others, we will train you! 

Job Duties:

? Provide direct support to assigned individuals through small group activities and community outings.

? Facilitate socialization opportunities for assigned individuals and provide assistance as needed.

? Accompany individuals to various activities within the community (e.g., sporting events, car shows, hiking, movies, etc.).

? Act as a liaison to and communicate on a regular basis with the individual served, family members and/or guardians, and other service providers.

Requirements

Requirements:

? First Aid and CPR Certification required before starting employment - we will help you obtain this!

? High school diploma or equivalent

? Valid U.S. driver's license and access to a vehicle

? Ability to read and write in English

? Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

? Must be 18 years of age

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills

? Ability to exhibit patience with others

? Must pass background check and CORI
