Oversees and coordinates the Center’s Disability Program.

• Participates in initial screening, conducts assessments and coordinates logistics as it relates to disabled trainee’s participation in the program.
• Makes pre-arrival contact with new disabled trainees to ensure all requirements are met.
• Refers and coordinates disabled trainees for academic/vocational assessments.
• Works & communicates with Regional Office, Health & Wellness Supervisor and CMHC to ensure the delivery of quality services.
• Assists the Career Transition Department with the development of work experience sites and the placement of disabled trainees.

Disseminates information to staff and local agencies regarding the Center’s Disability Program.

• Acts as liaison for disabled trainees in services rendered by various local agencies.
• Works closely with Vocational Rehabilitation to ensure that targeted trainees have been formally assessed by the agency.
• Develops referrals to and receives reports from Health & Wellness with respect to speech therapy, psychological evaluations and special health problems.
• Participates on Case Management Teams as needed to address special needs/concerns.
• Coordinates regularly scheduled Reasonable Accommodation Assessment Team (RAAT) meetings.
• Conducts staff training associated with the Disability Program.
