Human Appeal is Hiring a Logistics and Travel Officer- Texas , Dallas Near Dallas, TX

Here at Human Appeal, we have an exciting opportunity for a US Logistics and Travel Officer to join our team, based in Dallas office. You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract. In return, you will receive a competitive salary!

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As US Logistics and Travel Officer the successful candidate will play an integral role in leading on the administration, organisation and execution of all bookings for Human Appeal, including travel (trains, car hire, flights etc.), accommodation, events (fundraising venues, training locations etc.) and visas where necessary, as well as any other relevant bookings required on confluence with Human Appeal’s planned activity. All with a view to ensuring the smooth operational running of Human Appeal events and field trips, as well as ensuing value for money to minimise expenditure.

We are ideally looking to appoint somebody immediately to this role.

Key duties and responsibilities of the US Logistics and Travel Officer:

  • Make all of Human Appeal’s travel bookings, including car hire, trains, and flights for staff travelling for fundraising events, training, conferences, networking and field visits.
  • Make all of Human Appeal’s accommodation bookings in the US and for any overseas travel.
  • Make all of Human Appeal’s venue bookings, for fundraising, training and networking events, in the US and for any overseas trips.
  • Disseminate the correct booking confirmation and visa details to the people who are travelling or running the relevant event.
  • Manage and monitor a budget for each booking request, communicating with the requesting department if any additional funds outside of the original budget are required.
  • Research suppliers to ensure that all bookings provide value for money.
  • Develop a Preferred Supplier List of travel, accommodation and venue providers to secure discounts (e.g. for bulk-bookings).
  • Ensure all bookings activity is compliant with Human Appeal’s financial conduct policies, and that all booking information is filed accurately for audit purposes.
  • Assist with shipping merchandise to Fundraisers as requested and keeping track of supplies.

What we are looking for in our US Logistics and Travel Officer:

  • Ideally degree-educated in a related field, e.g. Finance, Business Studies
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in similar role in Finance or Office Support
  • Computer literate , use of MS office Suite
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about the international development field
  • Fluent English is essential and any additional languages such as Arabic, or Urdu, are desirable
