Water Resources Senior Technical Advisor

Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars Inc. is seeking an experienced water resources engineer for an immediate part time opportunity in their Dallas office. Preference is a licensed engineer in the state of Texas with 20 years of experience. Experience in the Dallas area is desired. The role will include providing senior oversight of a diverse range of stormwater projects in addition to business development. The position will include working collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering analysis and design for public works infrastructure, urban development, and transportation projects.

Location: Dallas, TX

Registration(s): Licensed PE in the state of Texas

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).

 Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform Quality Control reviews of a wide range of hydrology, hydraulics, scour, and geomorphic projects
• Mentor EIT, PE, and Project Management staff regarding hydrologic and hydraulic design
• Mentor staff in Project Management and Task Management activities for water resources projects
• Perform business development activities including, client relationship development, preparation of Statement of Qualifications and proposals
• Write and coordinate preparation of graphic materials for presentations and documents

Qualifications:

• Strong technical skills in a wide range of hydrologic & hydraulic analyses
• Ability to mentor staff in the preparation of civil engineering documents and specifications
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
• The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
