CIVIL ENGINEER

Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for a Civil Engineer for our Dallas office with at least 6 years’ experience and will be a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. This role works collaboratively in a team environment providing engineering design for public works infrastructure and transportation projects.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Function as a Civil Engineer within the Public Works group
• Prepare engineering reports, cost estimates, and project schedules
• Research jurisdictional requirements for incorporation into project design
• Prepare design drawings using MicroStation, Geopak, Open Roads.
• Conduct site visits and documents findings
• Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes for project coordination
• Write and prepare graphic materials for presentations and documents 
• Work with a team of engineers to design & produce construction documents

 Qualifications:

• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with a minimum of 6 years of Public Works design experience
• Ability to prepare civil engineering documents, estimates and specifications
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to write clearly to communicate technical issues and design ideas
• Ability to present in a meeting
• Ability to design printed and digital documents
• Ability to interact & communicate with team members and clients

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
• The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
