Springs Fabrication is hiring a QA Dimensional Inspector for Fabrication Department as a Full-Time job in Westminster, CO. 
 
As a QA Dimensional Inspector, your primary responsibility is to inspect products at various stages of the production process that are received, machined, and/or fabricated. Capable of setting up and calibrating metrology and test instruments, performing dimensional inspection, surface finish inspection, and interpreting the results of the inspections against the requirements of applicable specifications or codes.

Key Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates inspection equipment, such as Faro, and interprets results to code and specification requirements.
  • Responsible for coordinating inspection requirements, scheduling, and associated documentation and records.
  • Evaluates data and write reports to document results to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • A proficient understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Inspects materials received, work in process, and finished products using conventional inspection instruments to ensure conformance with work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Must maintain inspection process and documentation in compliance with the Quality System requirements.
  • May be trained as a Quality System auditor.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • May be assigned as a discipline or project lead inspector. No supervisory responsibilities are assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • 4 years of experience in metal fabrication (i.e. welding, engineering, inspection, or machining).
  • MUST HAVE dimensional inspection experience and/or verifiable experience with Faro equipment (preferable).

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Must be skilled in the inspection practices for which qualified.
  • Ability to utilize hand-held measurement tools, i.e. calipers, micrometers, bore gages, steel rule, tape measure, etc.
  • Proficient in the interpretation of drawings and specifications.
  • Must have a vast understanding of quality documentation.
  • Proficient with using computers.
  • Must have the ability to become proficient in the use of CMM equipment: grasping the concepts, programming, and able to use equipment efficiently, applicable to the product being inspected.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must pass a visual acuity test per ATG procedure, which requires the reading of a Jaeger 1 chart and identifying/distinguishing specific colors from one another
