**Located in Fishkill, New York**

Busy multi-specialist ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced ophthalmic technician, but willing to train hard working and dependable candidates. The ophthalmic technician will perform a range of duties which include preparing the patient to see the Ophthalmologist. Must be able to work Saturdays on rotating schedules. Experience is preferred but will train the right candidate. Bilingual a plus! the practice offers 401K, profit sharing and many other benefits!

Responsibilities include:

  • Obtain and record patient’s chief complaint and complete ocular and medical history.
  • Instill eye drops and any other medication as prescribed by physician.
  • Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks to include Office Visits, comprehensive exams, visual acuity, AR, IOL Master, Pupillary Function Tests, IOP check (by Tonopen and/or Applanation), Visual Fields, BAT, Pachymetry, Corneal Topography, OCT, Specular Microscopy, Stereo testing, Color Vision testing, and Refracting. Technicians will be using pharmaceutical drops to dilate patients as directed by Ophthalmologist. Other tasks specific to the physician’s needs as a result of new technologies.
  • Prepare for and assist in minor procedures as directed by the physician.
  • Documentation of patient’s ocular examination.
  • Telephone support regarding ocular emergencies, patient care questions, and pharmacy refills- requiring checking your technician and personal mailbox daily.
  • Ensure daily cleaning and stocking of each exam room.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and orderly environment for patients, patient’s family and clinical personnel.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
