Process Engineering Intern

Job Location: Champaign, IL or Atlanta, GA

To ensure that Hudson maintains a refrigerant-side expert leadership position, Hudson continuously studies refrigerants and their impact on systems. Hudson spends approximately 5 percent of its annual revenues on researching and developing solutions relating to handling refrigerant decontamination and optimization of industrial refrigeration and chiller systems.

Hudson is currently seeking a highly motivated entry-level person as a Process Engineering Intern. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Rudimentary understanding of existing Hudson Operations processes (e.g. refrigerant reclamation, separation)
  • Developing ideas to improve the efficiency and reducing operating costs of Hudson Operations
  • Modeling of Hudson Operations, new process equipment, etc. using engineering software
  • Gathering data and preparing reports to update senior management
    • Managing the creation, storage, maintenance and updates of blueprints - P&IDs, PFDs, floor plans, process unit layouts, wiring diagrams, etc. – in AutoCAD or any other convenient software, as needed by Operations 
  • Working with other Hudson divisions on new projects as related to R-Side services, reclamation and separation

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Basic knowledge of instruments and process control
  • Good knowledge of the use of software (AutoCAD, MS Office tools, etc.) 
  • Effective communication skills in both written and oral forms

The candidate will be expected to be based in Champaign, IL or Atlanta, GA. They will be directly reporting to Hudson’s Engineering Manager.
