Location: Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Lackland & Randolph AFB

Position: Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses - Cardiology

Qualifications:
Education: Certificate from an accredited community college, junior college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the State agency and the state Board.
Licensure: Must have an unrestricted LVN/PN license.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for this role.

Experience:
Minimum of one year of practical or vocational nursing experience in a critical care unit, Emergency Room, or Step-down Cardiology unit within the last three years.

Responsibilities:
Initiate, perform, and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
Accurately complete patient care based on the patients' conditions, using clinical judgment for the order and sequence of procedures and treatments.
Observe, identify, and respond to the patient’s needs including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
Prepare and administer prescribed medications across various methods (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous) and perform treatments according to established protocols.
Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek assistance from RNs and doctors, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 0600 – 1830.
9-hour shifts, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch, not exceeding 40 hours per week.
