Hubbell, Inc. is Hiring a CAD Technician I - Iron Mountain, MI Near Mountain, MI

Job Overview

As a member of our Engineering Services Team, you will help create drawing packages for our utility customers. As a CAD Technician I, you will modify CAD files to incorporate engineering changes. This position is an entry level position with the opportunity for advancement; we will provide training to a highly motivated individual.

A Day In The Life
  • Draft electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using various platforms including AutoCAD & MicroStation
  • Draft electrical station layouts, plans, and details using various platforms including AutoCAD & MicroStation
  • Draft physical station layouts, plans, and details in 2D and 3D using various platforms including AutoCAD & MicroStation
  • Create cover sheets using various platforms including AutoCAD & MicroStation
  • Create and maintain drawing lists
  • Produce and maintain high quality drawings and drafting, exhibiting strict attention to detail
  • Plot, scan and create pdfs of documents/drawings to support project team
  • Plot drawing sets and create shipping labels for customer sets
  • Follow customer procedures and standards regarding drawing modifications

  • High school diploma and related experience in drafting, Electrical or Construction fields
  • Working knowledge of MS office suite
  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Highly motivated to learn new skills
  • High attention to detail and quality review
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while still hitting milestone dates
  • Experience in an office setting
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Working knowledge of drafting practices
  • Ability to visualize items in 3D
  • Basic knowledge of construction
  • Familiarity of electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Basic understanding of mechanical connections
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D & 3D, AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation 2D & 3D
  • Excellent organizational skills
