The role of the Transportation Coordinator is to offer operational support to Account Management. This individual will act as the liaison between Truck Brokerage and Account Management, determining if a shipment should be tendered with committed capacity or turned over to the Carrier Representatives to source on the spot market. This individual will also manage carrier execution on committed business.
- Represent Truck Brokerage to Account Management, serving as the first point of contact
- Once a load has been accepted and scheduled, take ownership to tender to committed capacity or direct it to the spot board for coverage
- Manage capacity and trailer pools of our partner carriers
- Identify capacity with core carriers to pursue growth opportunities
- Communicate requirement and tender shipments for committed lane
- Prepare the shipment to be sufficiently traced throughout the life of the load
- Manage KPIs for committed carriers
- Advise team members and Director about operational issues as requires
- Assist in problem resolution and developing contingency plans
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the transportation industry preferred
- Proven customer service experience
- Must be a self-starter and driven to succeed
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of various Microsoft Office products including, Excel and Work
- Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment
