This role is responsible in crafting and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, aligning with corporate objectives, and fostering a culture of employee engagement and client-centric excellence. Primary Responsibilities Delivers sales and financial goals, including deposit growth, consumer and small business loan origination, consumer and business checking growth, and fee income. Executes results through a structured sales management approach, encompassing regular routines such as conducting weekly sales calls, visiting banking centers, hosting jumpstart meetings, providing on-the-spot and in-depth coaching, serving as a role model, and engaging in joint calling. Executes the Retail Strategic Plan to drive business growth and align it with HTLF objectives. Cultivates employee engagement by implementing proactive action plans to address key elements of employee engagement, assessed through an annual engagement survey. Recruits, develops, and retains top talent by actively leading or participating in recruiting efforts, managing career development, providing coaching, overseeing performance management, and creating a culture that holds team members accountable and empowers them to excel. Builds strong collaborative relationships with peers and business partners through ongoing market-based strategic meetings, setting expectations for delivering the full range of bank services to customers, measured by referrals and financial results. Champions and leads the customer experience strategy, ensuring that all banking centers deliver consistent, positive experiences for customers. Ensures compliance with all applicable risk, regulatory, and compliance standards. Regularly travels to each retail center within the region, developing strong relationships with sales and operational leadership teams. Maintains a relentless focus on the execution of the sales and financial strategy, ensuring that deposit growth, loan origination, checking growth, and fee income goals are consistently met. Secondary Responsibilities Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function. Performs other duties as assigned. Management Responsibilities Works with department staff on individual professional development and career development opportunities. Facilitates team members in creating individual goals and development plans that align with the department goals. Works with HTLF's Talent Acquisition team to identify and hire the most qualified and talented individuals to fill open positions. Provides information and on-going feedback to department staff regarding expectations and performance, salary adjustments and/or promotions. Addresses and resolves all performance concerns and issues in a timely manner. Prepares and conducts annual performance reviews within established deadlines. Qualifications Education and Work Experience: Bachelors in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience required. 7-10 years Retail banking multi-location management experience required. 5-7 years inside and outside sales management experience required. 7-10 years direct managing people required. Experience in strategic planning and execution. Ability to develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of successfully leading and motivating teams to achieve sales and financial targets. In-depth knowledge of the banking and financial services industry, including emerging trends, technologies, and best practices. Familiarity with banking regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze financial data, understand market trends, and make data-driven decisions to achieve financial objectives. Customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of customer needs and preferences. Ability to design and implement strategies that enhance the customer experience and drive customer loyalty. Ability to adapt to changing market conditions, customer preferences, and technological advancements, ensuring the organization remains competitive and innovative. Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Time Type: Full time The targeted salary for this role is: $105,440.00 - $137,072.00 You may also be offered incentive compensation, and benefits.
