Our fast-paced manufacturing firm is seeking an Forklift Operator (1st Shift). This position will provide the successful candidate with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills, and work as a team within a clean and safe environment. The ideal candidate for this role has a minimum of 6 months experience in the manufacturing sector, pays strong attention to detail, has excellent attendance and is committed to workplace safety. This is a 1st shift position, Monday- Friday 6:00am-2:00pm. The rate of pay for this position is $13.00 per hour.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

This description is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continual basis. It does not exclude other duties that may be assigned.)

* Assist Cut-Off Operator with applying banding material to bundles, and labeling.

* Complete daily forklift inspection to include filling out required paperwork.

* Assist Cut-Off Operator with removing excess water from around the work area as needed.

* Assist Mill Operator with length adjustments on debur and de-dimple equipment.

* Assist Mill Operator with routine maintenance as required

* Assist Mill Operator with new set-ups and tooling changes.

* Abide by all safety policies and procedures.

* Assist Mill Operator with ensuring all tools and equipment are put up at the end of the shift and that the area is clean and free of clutter.

* Work with Entry operations to ensure coils are delivered to entry area on a timely manner to as not interrupt mill operations.

* Band empty pallets and remove from the building to the staging area behind the metal plant.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

Unload and perform quality testing of steel coils for both Metal and Tube Plant.

* Tag all incoming steel coils and place into inventory.

* Rotate inventory and pull stock for Mill operations

* Rotate finished goods inventory

* Load outgoing trucks and pull finished goods tags.

* Assist Lead Person with inventory.

* Complete daily forklift inspection to include filling out required paperwork.

* Transfer inventory with TranCollector system

**Minimum Requirements:**

High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required for consideration.

Minimun of 6 months of previous work experience in a manufacturing setting preffered but not required (Prior forklift experience)

**Qualifications:**

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
