Spend the summer on our beautiful, woodsy property on Lake Norwich in Huntington! Camp Norwich is the Hampshire Regional YMCA’s outdoor summer day camp serving children age 5-14. Our camp is beloved by many for good reason; the staff team, campers, and all YMCA support staff work together to learn, play, and grow all summer long, returning year after year. The maintenance staff at this site are responsible for keeping the camp grounds and buildings safe and clean for children, as well as contributing to a positive and fun culture at camp. Make a difference in a child’s life this summer! This position would begin immediately and end in October 2024, with option to return next year.

Job Duties

• Perform cleaning duties such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, refilling soap dispensers, etc.
• Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, doors, and faucets, filling wall gaps, replacing light bulbs, painting, rescreening
• Perform breaker box and electrical wiring checks to pass along to Facility Director
• Perform garden and yard upkeep like lawn mowing, trail clearing, rock spreading
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment problems on property like AC units, plumbing, and lighting fixtures
• Communicate frequently with Facility Director regarding tasks that need attention

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Experience with maintenance work is required
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems preferred
• Experience using hand and electrical tools required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required, and comfort working with children preferred
