Lucent Health, in Rancho Cordova, is seeking a full-time Government Claims Processor/Examiner. The Government Claims Processor/Examiner processes claims accurately, efficiently and within quality/quantity requirements, exhibits an attention to detail and a strong work ethic and has the ability to interpret Plan Documents.
This is an in-office position, 5 days per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Processes claims accurately, efficiently and within production requirements.
Exhibits an attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Has the ability to access research tools for accurate claims entry.
Is organized and able to manage time and resources efficiently and effectively.
Thorough knowledge of coding structures (CPT, HCPCS, Rev codes, lCD 9/10 etc).
Has the ability to perform arithmetic calculations.
Has the ability to handle many types of claims pricing (Network, Medicare, special contract rates).
Performs duties in a HIPAA compliant manner.
Participates as a Team Member to ensure the smooth operation of the entire department.
Completes other projects as assigned.
Complies with department policies and procedures.
Assists in training other employees at the lead's request.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of medical terminology, system hierarchies, medical coding, Medicare pricing, A and claims processing are a plus.
Qualifications:
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral communication skills and written communication skills.
Strong skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Trizetto system a plus.
Professional demeanor with ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Must also be able to work independently, multi-task, have excellent attention to detail, and be a team player.
Compensation: $17-20 per hour, DOE, plus full benefits, paid time off, holidays.
