About Us

Form Energy is a small team of passionate people committed to helping the world transition to a 100% renewable energy electric grid with new technology. We are developing a new class of ultra-low cost, long-duration energy storage systems to make renewable energy available even when the sun sets, or the wind stops blowing. Form’s technology has the potential to transform the electric grid by making renewable energy dispatchable year-round. The company’s core technology was invented at MIT and is supported by category-leading investors including Breakthrough Energy Ventures, The Engine, and Prelude Ventures. Our team members are active learners who enjoy working on tough technology problems that can only be solved with a combination of technical innovation and hard work. We are looking for a diverse set of world-class talent to help us change the way the world uses energy.

Role Description

This talent leader connects the workforce with our shared success by making sure employees have the right skills for growth and ensuring we have a workforce ready when needed for production. You will build partnerships outside the company to create talent pools that benefit both us and our communities. Working with different stakeholders across the organization, you will figure out what skills we need and make plans to develop them. You're in charge of creating and running programs that help our Factory grow by improving our skills and capabilities.

What you’ll do:

  • Partnership Development: Identify, create and nurture connections between Form Energy and key external partners in education, government, community relations, and other forums to build a pipeline of key relationships that support the workforce development programming.

  • Workforce Readiness: Forecast future skill needs based on changes in technology, product roadmaps, and company growth plans and support workforce development with recruitment, upskilling, or reskilling initiatives.

  • Training and Development: design, implement, and oversee new training programs, create or adapt curriculums with external parties, and organize training sessions.

  • Skill Analysis and Capability Roadmap: in the interest of enabling the Form Energy team to advance their careers and deliver outcomes, evaluate the current skill sets of employees and identified candidate pool against the operational capability roadmap. Identify gaps between the existing skills and the skills required for optimal productivity or against planned internal career readiness programs. Build and execute the capability roadmap to proactively identify workforce development programs that can close gaps either through internal skill development or through external readiness.

  • Employee Engagement and Retention: Collaborate with leadership on initiatives such as career development planning, mentorships, apprenticeships and other tools to improve employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention.

  • Program Marketing and Attraction: In partnership with the Communications team, design and execute both internal and external facing communications that attract populations to the portfolio of available workforce development programs.

  • Assess Impact: Build the metrics and performance analytics to monitor the impact of program designs, partnerships and tools and recommend improvements to enhance performance. Participate in reporting to third parties on the positive impact of workforce development to the health of our communities.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, industrial/organizational psychology, education, business administration, or equivalent experience is required.

  • 10 years of progressive learning or program experience with at least 3 years of direct manufacturing program support.

  • Relevant work experience that indicates a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, technology, and industry trends in advanced manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of training methodologies, adult learning principles, and instructional design, including the use of learning technology.

  • Demonstrated ability to create and execute innovative solutions within learning, education and workforce development partnerships.

  • Strong communication skills, ability to market and champion a learning roadmap, and ability to professionally interact with external partners and internal stakeholders including a diverse employee base.

Able and willing to flex the work schedule to be present for shift leadership when needed.
