HRST, Inc. is Hiring an Ehs specialist Near Minnetonka, MN

Position Summary : As an environmental health and safety (EHS) specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing HRST’s safety records, programs, and training.

Your goal will be to ensure that these programs are effective and compliant with all relevant regulations.

Essential Functions :

  • Safety Programs
  • Keep HRST’s health and safety manual up to date
  • Implement policies to improve health and safety
  • Ensure occupational health and safety policies are being followed
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Maintain program compliance with state, federal, and OSHA requirements
  • Record Keeping
  • OSHA Logs

EMR) Experience Modification Rating

  • DOT compliance and logs
  • Customer vendor portals, such as Avetta, ISN, and others
  • Employee occupational health and safety
  • Audits
  • Respond to safety audits as required by Customer vendor portals, such as Avetta, ISN, and others.
  • Oversee DOT records and audits
  • Monitor employees and equipment to ensure active compliance in following all policies and procedures
  • Risk Assessment
  • Track and report HRST’s near misses
  • Review industry issues and internal events
  • Accident Investigation
  • Track and report HRST’s safety incidents
  • Employee Training & Development
  • Ensure all field personnel are current with required trainings
  • Maintain system for logging employee safety credentials
  • Create and maintain safety awareness training programs and modules such as tool box talks, safety meetings, and new hire orientations.
  • Safety Equipment
  • Provide regulatory guidance and recommendations for safety equipment
  • Stay on top of industry equipment recalls
  • Maintain recommended PPE stock
  • Track expiration dates for PPE equipment being used in the field
  • Communication
  • Share health and safety information and updates regularly to keep employees well informed

Qualification Requirements :

  • Strong understanding of EHS regulations
  • Ability to develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A self-starter
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A work ethic that includes strong desire for continuous improvement

Education and / or Experience

  • Technical or University degree or qualifying experience in Industrial Safety, EHS, or industry related safety field or experience equal to 2 years or more work experience and training in Safety or an industry related field OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS or industry related field
  • Must have completed OSHA 30 Training
  • Preferred experience and knowledge of the risks involved in the power generation industry.
