We are looking for a senior software engineer to help us develop future of quantum information technologies. Scientists and engineers at HRL use our quantum software development kit everyday to better operate, understand, and advance our devices.

As a software engineer on the quantum control team you will be responsible for developing software for the automation and characterization of our devices.

Build software for automating complex sequences of experiments.

Design algorithms for accurately calibrating and benchmarking quantum devices.

Build rich visualizations to exhibit device characteristics and performance.

Collaborate with data engineering team to collect and organize data so that it can be readily used to understand and advance our quantum devices.

5 years relevant software engineering experience.

Proficiency in Python.

Experience with leading open source Python packages such as Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter, etc.

Familiarity with one or more relational database system.

Familiarity with quantum physics.

Experience with software engineering practices such as version control and continuous integration.

Solid understanding of core computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and computer architectures.

U.S. Citizenship; active security clearance or ability to obtain one.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $117,200 - $143,500 bonus benefits.
