hr360 is Hiring a SUD Counselor Near San Francisco, CA

Job Overview This is a union position. 815 program is a withdrawal management and residential treatment program serving co-ed clients experiencing withdrawal and addiction challenges. Clients receive abuse counseling and education, life skills as well as individual and group therapy. The goal for our clients is reduce their dependency upon substance and to develop coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills. SUD’s are responsible for assessing client needs and strengths in support of health and recovery. Through counseling in individual and group settings, delivering curricula in accordance with program specific requirements and case management, SUD’s assist clients in navigating systems of care while providing a supportive treatment environment. Key ResponsibilitiesIndividual Treatment Responsibilities: Provides learning experience opportunities and offers clinical support to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals. Proactively links clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs and follows up on the progress/status. Treatment Setting Responsibilities: Facilitates group counseling sessions, community meetings and teaches classes on various treatment-related topics. Performs crisis intervention and communicates with treatment team as unforeseen situations arise. The SUD I will document any client updates and incidents in the facility log daily. Primarily performs periodic house runs to ensure and maintain the safety and security of the facility. When assigned the DOT, documents and accurately distributes client money, ensures client medications are securely stored and properly accounted for and holds facility keys and floater cellular phones. As needed, accompanies clients to offsite appointments related to their treatment. SUD I staff will attend required trainings and meetings related to their position. Plans and facilitates client celebrations and special events. May work weekends and holidays as needed. Documentation Responsibilities: Collaborates with each caseload client and other available internal and external resources to develop/maintain treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of the client. Properly documents all individual and group counseling sessions in a timely manner. Also, maintains accurate records by data entering documentation into various electronic systems for all caseload clients in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements. And, other duties as assigned. Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Education Required: Registration with Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by DHCS.High School diploma or equivalent.First Aid Certified within 30 days of employment.CPR Certified within 30 days of employment.A valid California driver’s license.Desired: Drug and Alcohol Certification recognized by DHCS.Bachelor’s Degree in related field.Background Clearance Required: Must not be on active parole or probation.Knowledge Required: Culturally competent and able to work with a diverse population.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications.Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self sufficiency.Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data.Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility and reliability are imperative.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.Action oriented.Strong problem-solving skills.Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities.Outstanding ability to follow-through with tasks.Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of interdisciplinary team and independently assume responsibility.Strong initiative and enthusiasm and willingness to pitch in whenever needed.Able to communicate well at all levels of the organization including working with organization leadership and high-level representatives of partner organizations.Able to work within a frequently changing project scope while maintaining overall direction and structured priorities.Desired: Knowledge of co-occurring disorders and trauma informed treatment.Knowledge of Clinical documentation (treatment plans, progress notes etc.).Experience working with criminal justice population.Bilingual.#INDS
