Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Irrigation Department Manager to oversee all aspects of our irrigation/lighting department. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about irrigation systems, landscape lighting, water management practices, and landscape design principles. They will be responsible for managing a team of irrigation technicians, ensuring the efficient and effective installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of irrigation technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
• Project Management: Plan, schedule, and coordinate irrigation/lighting projects, including installations, upgrades, and repairs, to meet client deadlines and budget requirements.
• System Design: Collaborate with landscape designers and project managers to develop irrigation system designs that align with client needs, site conditions, and sustainability goals.
• Installation Oversight: Oversee the installation of irrigation and landscape lighting systems, ensuring proper equipment selection, placement, and functionality, while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
• Maintenance and Repair: Implement preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting protocols to identify and address issues with irrigation systems promptly, minimizing downtime and maximizing system efficiency.
• Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage departmental budgets, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation to maximize profitability and minimize waste.
• Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about local regulations, water conservation initiatives, and industry trends related to irrigation practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines.
• Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding irrigation-related inquiries, concerns, and requests, maintaining positive relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, technology upgrades, and training initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency, productivity, and innovation.
• Safety and Quality Assurance: Enforce safety protocols, equipment maintenance standards, and quality assurance measures to promote a safe working environment and deliver superior results to clients.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in irrigation system design, installation, and management.
• Strong leadership skills with proven experience in team management and development.
• Extensive knowledge of irrigation equipment, techniques, and technologies.
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Irrigation Association Certification (preferred).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $23.03 - $27.74 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
