Overview:

We are looking for an Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate supervises and directs overall administration, organization, and implementation of assigned projects in a manner that optimizes customer satisfaction and project profitability. This includes estimating, preparing bids, design, layout, scheduling, material requisition, labor assignments and billing.

Project Management (60%)

  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Farrell Roofing and customer safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Farrell Roofing employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the company.
  • Responsible for attending pre-bid meetings, review invitation to bid and web postings for Public Works projects.
  • Communicate as necessary with code officials.
  • Attend project progress meetings.
  • Coordinate, plan, and manage schedules for subcontractors.
  • Visit jobsites as necessary to review with Superintendent/project foreman regarding production, details, etc. in addition to conducting quality control audits.
  • Follow up with customers after submitting a proposal. Check that price meets with what was discussed or if they have any questions.
  • Communicate with owners rep., consultants, general contractors, architect, or engineers during roofing construction.
  • Review roof systems and manufactures details for changes or updates.
  • Prepare project invoicing. This will include progress billing/percentage of completion.
  • Prepare change order documentation as necessary.
  • Prepare contracts as necessary. Review contracts furnished to us. Communicate with attorney as necessary.
  • Pre-plan with construction superintendent and project foreman.

Estimator (40%)

  • Performs estimating tasks necessary to qualify bid requests and prepare estimates, proposals, or bids for projects in conjunction with customer specifications, code requirements and job conditions.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, review invitations to bid and web postings for Public Works projects.
  • Conduct field survey for existing roof replacement or repair. Measure for area, penetrations, flashing details, metal components. Core cuts for existing roof composition and deck type. Logistics for material handling, access, etc.
  • Review any addenda published during bid process. Produce RFI’s as necessary.
  • Obtain pricing from material suppliers, sub-contractors, scaffolding suppliers, equipment rentals, etc., permits and bonds pricing as projects require.

Education and Experience

  • BS in Construction Management or related degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent education required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • OSHA 10 required and OSHA 30 preferred
  • Five to seven years’ experience in estimating or project management preferred.
