Upward Bound Summer Instructor

Our client, The University of San Francisco (USF) is looking to fill a temporary Upward Bound Summer Instructor.
The University of San Francisco Upward Bound (USFUB) TRIO Program is currently seeking a highly motivated, knowledgeable, engaging, student-focused educator to teach academic courses in English, Chemistry or Biology, Algebra / Geometry, Algebra 2, Robotics / Coding, Sign Language, and Self Defense.
Courses will be taught to high school students who are rising 9th-12th graders. The position requires someone who has passion and knowledge to motivate and challenge students to generate skills necessary for college success.
This role will be from June 10th through July 19th, 2024. This position will be on-site .

Responsibilities :
Attend instructor orientation / planning sessions and program activities.
Participate in USFUB weekly staff meetings.
Develop a set of lessons for student learning outcomes.
Design and implement a course syllabus.
Establish classroom management policies to maintain a productive and engaging environment
Prepare students for End Summer Open House
Qualifications :
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
Preference given to those with a teaching credential or those working towards obtaining one.
At least 2 years of experience teaching the relevant subject.
At least 2 years of experience directly working with or teaching low-income, first-generation college-bound students.
Skills and knowledge to effectively work with students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, linguistic and ethnic backgrounds.
