Laser Operator / Light Assembly

This role is located in the Michiana area

30 - 40 hours a week position with a well-established, stable small business. Ideal for a detail-oriented person who is patient and has excellent fine motor skills.

What You'll Do :

You will operate a laser, table saw, laminator and various small tools. You will be responsible for checking quality of workmanship every step of the manufacturing process to ensure parts are meeting company standards.

Your Accountabilities in the Role :

• Operates a laser and uses various tools following processes. Sets up, all steps of production, including keeping work areas clean to ensure a safe work place.
• Assembles products following specifications and methods as instructed precisely. Adheres to the manufacturing process as taught.

Employee must follow the process as instructed.

• Ensures all parts are inspected for quality and delivers to final inspection (where applicable) for a reliable product and ensuring all company standards are achieved.
• Counts material and products to ensure accuracy for the customer, as well as maintaining accurate inventor.
• Supports leaders and other team areas as needed to meet overall team goals.

Position Requirements :

• Education : High school diploma. Will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience : 1 years of detailed assembly or operation of laser equipment / tools preferred. Will train someone with strong attention to detail.
• Certifications : N / A
• Functional Skills : Strong math & counting skills; detail-oriented, precise, and accurate in their work. Able to work with hands in a very accurate way.

Excellent vision with or without correction. Mechanically inclined and able to read, comprehend, retain work instructions and able to work accurately at a reasonable pace once trained.

Is able to prioritize and be flexible to move from job to job as priorities change.

• Technology Skills : Ideal candidate has experience with Corel Draw Software.
• Leadership / Behaviors : Excellent product quality focus, able to work independently or with others to help all areas. Safety oriented and able to work amicably with others and take advice / mentoring, instructions well.
• Culture Match : Respectful of team members and policies, has ability to stay focused on quality, as well as being patient with the detailed work process.

Requires an excellent work ethic with the ability to learn and follow instructions.

Other Important Information :

Pay : Hourly pay; Negotiable based on experience.

Reports To : Operations Manager

Core Hours : 9 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm (schedule can be negotiated during training and afterwards. Position can be 30 - 40 hours per week.

Typical Work Week : M-F; very occasional weekend work.

Travel : None during training or first couple of years. After that time, the employee may be considered for some part-time travel.

This is not a requirement to be considered for the position

Work Environment : Production environment : Will need to wear ear protection. Need to be able to stand the entire day. Eye protection is required for certain tasks.

May not be sensitive (allergic) to fine materials or plastics. Must have ability to lift 50 lbs.(occasionally) and operate laser equipment and small tools.
