JOB SUMMARY:

While upholding Hoyt’s Policies and Mission and Values Statements, the Manufacturing Technician is responsible for machine PM and servicing activities. In addition, is responsible for some facility maintenance and 6s. The swing shift is from 2:30PM - 11:00PM.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Services and repairs production equipment and machinery: Troubleshoot minor problems when machines malfunctions. Repair machines with minimal downtime. Preform Preventive Maintenance inspections as scheduled.

Provides facility maintenance: Maintain and repair swamp coolers, doors, lights, office equipment, heaters, restrooms, etc. Paint facility and offices when needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

Responsible for general housekeeping of the shop area; work all scheduled hours up to seven days a week including overtime; maintain good attendance; adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and rules; adhere to the company’s Tobacco Free policy and perform other duties as assigned by top management.

Decision Making and Problem Solving:

The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing machine PM’s and minor repairs. Good problem-solving skills are necessary because the cause for machine malfunction is not always evident. Must be able to determine if the problem is beyond the scope of individual’s ability in order to source outside help from other team members or vendors.

Interaction with Others:

This position requires interacting with all levels of employees, ranging from upper management to operators on the production floor. In addition, the Manufacturing Technician occasionally interacts with outside vendors.

Education:

High School Diploma

Required Prior Work Experience:

Machine servicing and maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Physical Environment:

The time spent in the production area involves working with potentially hazardous manufacturing operations, equipment, machine tools, hand tools, dust and varying noise levels. In addition, safety hazards exist from working with electricity, metal shavings, and chemicals. Must be able to climb ladders and work at extremely high levels. Must enter confined spaces to examine and recommend actions to be taken.

Mental Pressure:

Constant concentration to solve logic problems coupled with frequent interruptions and noise make a difficult working environment. Machine breakdowns must be fixed as quickly as possible so as not to interrupt production. This can create a stressful environment.

Pay: $23.00 - $36.00 per hour
