POSITION SUMMARY

This part-time position is grant-funded, and continued employment is based on available funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services. The Bilingual Community Navigator is a community leader who educates the community on available resources, attends and conducts outreach events, and develops skills and knowledge around community engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts outreach to Spanish-speaking families for community resources and support.
• Participation in community events as an agency representative.
• Maintains written records of client interactions within the agency database. Maintains records and statistics as required by the agency and other funding sources and makes suggestions for revision and review.
• Supports Puente's team in meeting goals as stated in the grant/ program plan.
• Attends training as identified by the agency and/or funder.
• Attends staffing and meetings as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to conduct outreach within the target area.
• Interpersonal and communication skills

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• A High School diploma or GED: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Must be bilingual (Spanish & English).

REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess and retain a valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.
• The personal characteristics and experiential background that Bilingual Community Navigator to actively engage the Spanish-speaking community.
• Ability to receive a DCFS/CANTS Clearance.
• Must be able to drive independently.
