SUMMARYEnsure workflow remains moving through the Surfacing lab by processing jobs in areas of blocking, generators, laser engraving, polishing, inspection and into coating. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrimary DutiesInspect blocks to ensure they are clean and in good condition before useApply blocks to lenses using blocking machine and alloy materialTroubleshoot for possible mistakes from “layout” area.Keep alloy supply fullEnsure that the trays have the correct products in themCalibrate and maintain Generator as mandated in service logsPlace trays on conveyor belt making sure proper lenses are in traysPolish lensesSafety lenses using hand-stoneCheck for correct tools (laps),pads timesCheck pressure time and temperatureMaintain machines dailyMaintain polish filterAll other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONSEducationHigh School Diploma or GED ExperienceNone required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAble and willing to work as a teamBasic MathMust be able to work Overtime, Saturdays and Sundays and some holidays when neededAble to read and write English Language wellAble to memorize large amounts of data accuratelyComputer skills (Windows, MS Office)Experience or knowledge working with automated equipmentProblem solving skillsWork without constant supervisionAble to record information as requested in manual logs or computersAttendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on timeAble to work weekends when necessary Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to manipulate.
